Bianca Knox

Bianca had been quietly hoping to join the Light House team ever since she started a sustainability major in her second year of undergraduate studies. So she was pretty excited to get the opportunity to join us, and is always eager to learn from our diverse and interdisciplinary team.

In 2020, while working part-time in the design team, Bianca completed her Honours year with a project that focused on designing homes built from waste material. Now, she continues to work part-time with us while undertaking her Masters in Architecture.

Bianca does beautiful hand drawn concepts complete with plants, trees, people, dogs and sometimes even chooks, that help settle the designs into their landscape. She is also a whiz at preparing concepts in Photoshop and loves the opportunity to incorporate salvaged items into home designs. Bianca also helps with research into topics such as affordable housing and zero carbon housing.

In her spare time, she leads the UC Sustainability Club, taking care of the community garden at UC and hosting a range of events in collaboration with other community groups.
