Architecture awards are coming up!

We have a whopping four homes entered in this year’s ACT Architecture Awards. After winning an award in the Residential Architecture category last year for our beloved Wonga House, we have all our fingers and toes crossed for another prize this time around. Winners are announced on the night of Saturday 25th June.

Ever year the Canberra Times previews the nominated homes as part of the People’s Choice Award. Last weekend we were thrilled to see three of our homes grouped together under the heading Architects Awards 2016: Sustainable Design. If you get in quick, you can vote in the People’s Choice and go in the running to win a bottle of Penfold’s Grange!

The Light House projects nominated this year are a great cross section of our work: the renovation and extension of a classic Canberra red brick duplex in Reid, a super space and energy efficient home for downsizing retirees in Forde, a crafty greenfield home for a martial-arts and cat loving couple in Casey, and an eclectic, tight-budget design for a Gen-Y first home buyer in Coombs.
