Our Team.

Meet our small but mighty science squad! We use our many years of experience working with homeowners, designers and builders, on hundreds of homes in the Canberra region and beyond, to inform our work and ensure we deliver great thermal bang for buck. We’ve been doing this work since 2008.

At our former incarnation, Light House Architecture & Science, you got a hive-mind approach with up to 17 staff, most of them designers. That’s why our office was always buzzing. Every design project had a lead designer and a collaborating designer, plus input from members of the science team at each stage of the design process. While we don’t have architects on the team any more we have learned a lot about working productively with both architects and builders over the years.

Since 2025, it’s just been the science team delivering our super cost-effective services to people wanting to retrofit and thermally upgrade their homes or optimise their home design in terms of energy efficiency. We’ve always delivered these services but most people associate us with the architecture side of things because of the more glamourous pictures (and many awards). Apparently, photos of sun-filled living areas look more exciting than insulation and air leaks… but we reckon we can change your mind on that!
